Integrated Antenna Module for Advanced Vehicle Communication

This paper proposes the implementation of an automotive antenna system for vehicle communication based on a highly integrated antenna module. The proposed module is composed of specific antennas, each corresponding to either cellular or connectivity communication. This module is fully integrated with the modem and radio-frequency-integrated-circuit (RFIC), eliminating the need for RF cables. The entire vehicle communication system guarantees specific antenna beam-patterns for each of their respective applications, allowing for targeted direction. The measurement results for each antenna suggest that the proposed integrated system design meets the specific requirements of each application. Therefore, this paper presents an advanced, cost-effective solution for an integrated vehicle communication module that enhances performance using specific antennas.
