28/39 GHz Wideband Multi-feed Array Antenna-in-Package for Power Combining Technique

A multi-feed array antenna-in-package (AiP) is presented for high-power combinations which supports wideband bandwidth covering 28 and 39 GHz. The design of the multi-feed antenna element was conceived with array antennas in mind from the outset. As a result, the suggested antenna offers four input ports, simultaneously achieving impedance bandwidth, port-to-port isolation, and cross-polarization discrimination (XPD). The utilization of a shorted patch and coupled feeder enabled the attainment of an impedance bandwidth of 46% and port-to-port isolation exceeding 10 dB. A 4 × 1 antenna array achieves a gain of up to 11 dBi, a radiation efficiency of 90%, and an XPD exceeding 20 dB.
