Experimental Demonstration of a UWOC System based on DCO-OTFS

For the first time, a novel direct current-biased optical orthogonal time frequency space (DCO-OTFS) technology has been employed for underwater optical communication (UWOC). OTFS offers higher bandwidth, power, and energy efficiency than orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The experimental results demonstrated that the UWOC system utilizing DCO-OTFS achieved superior data rate and sensitivity compared to systems based on DCOOFDM and DCO-DFTs-OFDM. It can be highly beneficial to developing high-speed and long-range UWOC systems.
