Research on Interference Tolerance Model for Satellite Internet System Service Performance

Co-channel interference is inevitable in the Internet of Satellites (IoS). With the Best-effort Service characteristics and retransmission mechanism, the IoS can tolerate more interferences than existing interference protection standards. Therefore, the existing interference protection standards, generally used in traditional terrestrial telecommunication, will cause great degradation of spectrum efficiency on IoS. In this paper, we establish the IoS performance standard to evaluate the performance of IoS service and build up a channel interference mapping model that maps the interference characteristic to the IP packet error rate (IPER). Furthermore, we propose a method to calculate the interference margins of Satellite-Terrestial access links, contributing to the design of the interference protection standards. Simulation results demonstrate that the interference margins are $6.2 \mathrm{~dB}, 6.6 \mathrm{~dB}$, and 9.8 dB in the example scenarios.
