Development of Wireless Charging Systems for Intraoral Devices using Ultra-small Receiving Coils

In this paper, a magnetic-resonant coupling wireless power transfer (WPT) method for intraoral devices with very small coil is proposed. The WPT method using transmitting and receiving coils has the advantage of being able to supply power without any wire connection regardless of location limitation. This study designs and develop a wireless charging system to supply power of intraoral device, which is consist of a receiving coil, rectifier, sensor, and micro controller unit (MCU). The considered intraoral device are inserted inside teeth as dental implants. The power required for these dental devices is calculated by current consumption of each device. And, a simple prototype of transmitting and receiving circuit using ultra small coils are implemented and tested. Experimental results show that the proposed wireless charging system can supply power to intraoral device.
