A New PV Fed High Gain Boost-${\acute{C}uk}$ Converter Employed SRM Driven Water Pumping Scheme With IDEPSO MPPT

This research endeavor demonstrates an improved differential evolution particle swarm optimization (IDEPSO) established photovoltaic (PV) maximum power point tracker (MPPT) for water pumping applications. A high gain boost-${\acute{C}uk}$ converter has been utilized as an MPPT tracker, which provides better voltage regulation, high voltage gain, minimized stress on converter elements with depreciated losses as major benefits. Moreover, an IDEPSO based improved evolutionary algorithm is affirmed to obtain a global maximum power point (GMPP) under varying environmental conditions for PV based water pump utilization. An advanced IDEPSO based MPPT proffers reliable, precise, accurate, and system-independent superior characteristics to obtain GMPP under fluctuating weather cases. The PV occupying water pump is directed through a switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive and its speed can be controlled using dc-link voltage utilization, which delivers smooth and soft starting torque. Also, a mid-point converter is employed for SRM-driven systems with lower expenditure as it needs a single switch per phase only. An experimental setup of a PV based water pumping driven SRM has been realized using the dSPACE interface under starting, steady, and transient situations.
