Enhanced Urban Infrastructure: IoT-based Sewer Vault Monitoring and Cautioning System

A sewer vault monitoring and cautioning system has been developed by municipal corporation officials, offering advanced features for monitoring and cautioning purposes. Equipped with a DHT11 sensor, it detects changes in temperature and provides alerts through an APR33 A3 module and speaker located at the municipal corporation. Additional features include water overflow detection using water sensors, dangerous gas detection using an MQ2 sensor, and detection of manhole lid status using an IR sensor. An emergency button is also provided for immediate access during emergency situations. To enhance safety further, a copper transmitter coil is situated on the road to transmit signals to vehicles equipped with receiver copper coils. This enables drivers to identify the presence of manholes earlier and avoid driving over them, reducing accidents caused by damaged manholes. This integration of sensors provides robust safety for citizens and facilitates easier identification of damaged manholes within the city by municipal corporation.
