Power Quality Improvement in Microgrid System using IUPQC with Optimization Techniques

The aim of this paper is to design a pv-wind based hybrid system using different MPPT techniques. MPPT techniques are proposed to this hybrid system in order to improve the efficiency and reliability of the PV and Wind systems. This system also works when one of the power generation systems is unavailable. In other words, while this system is built to operate automatically while taking into account all relevant practical factors, connecting solar and wind energy to the grid results in uneven voltages, voltage fluctuations, and system unreliability. Interline Unified Power Quality Conditioner (iUPQC) is used to enhance the power quality of the planned multi-feeder microgrid system. This study also suggests an optimization technique-based control diagram for regulating the system's frequency and voltage in order to improve system reliability. In this paper, two optimization techniques such as PSO and cuckoo search algorithm has been proposed. The proposed hybrid system with optimization techniques has been tested in MATLAB/Simulink environment.
