Board design of digital chirp generator for earth observation

Remote sensing technology, which enables us to observe an object without touching it, has been widely used for earth observation in recent years. The Center for Environmental Remote Sensing, Chiba University, is developing a satellite equipped with a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and a system using an uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) as a preparatory experiment. Since this system uses a unique signal called a chirp signal, a chirp generator is required to generate the signal. This paper describes the board design of a digital chirp generator using FPGA.
