Plasma Processing Design and Simulation for the 100MHz Quater-wave Resonator Cavity at NSRL

Superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavity is an essential component of modern particle accelerators. At present, the field emission effect caused by the inner surface contaminations is the main factor that limits the performance of SRF cavities and affects the actual operation of accelerators. In order to mitigate this problem, in-suit plasma processing was developed. The plasma processing research has being studied in the 100MHz quater-wave resonator (QWR) cavity at national synchrotron radiation laboratory (NSRL). In this paper, the design and simulation of the 100MHz QWR cavity plasma discharge will be presented in details. This study can provide theoretical reference for the subsequent experiments.
