Dual-Beam Antenna Based on Metasurface

In this paper, a multibeam antenna based on metasurface is proposed. The antenna consists of a microstrip patch antenna and an upper metasurface. In this paper, the simulation results of microstrip patch antenna were compared with those after metasurface loading. It was shown that loaded with metasurface the radiation patterns of the proposed antenna changed from the original single beam to dual beam with the open direction of ±37°. The gain of the proposed antenna gain was the same as that without metasurface loading, both being 8.32dBi.
