New Electromagnetic Adjustable Angle Reflector

In order to improve the simulation flexibility of the electromagnetic characteristics of the radar angle reflector, a new design of the radar angle reflector with adjustable electromagnetic characteristics is proposed. The amplitude of the reflection coefficient is changed by introducing a PIN diode whose resistance value varies with voltage. A square three-hedral angular reflector is taken as an example to simulate and verify that the radar cross section (RCS) can be changed by spatial modulation of the amplitude control structure, and the variation range is about 30dBsm. The theoretical analysis results are in good agreement with the full-wave simulation results, which shows the feasibility of the proposed method. This research method applies the spatial modulation theory to the radar angle reflector to simulate the target with variable RCS and variable distance, which provides a broader application idea and background support for its application.
