A Design for an Ultra-Wideband Antenna with Reconfigurable Band-Notch Capabilities

In order to suppress interference from narrowband systems such as WiMAX and WLAN within the Ultra-wideband (UWB) frequency range, this article presents a notch UWB antenna that effectively mitigates the interference from the narrowband in the 3-12 GHz frequency range, thereby further improving the utilization efficiency of the UWB spectrum. The radiation patch of the antenna consists of a cut circular patch and two U-shaped slots on the radiation patch introduce two notches. The reconfigurable characteristics of the band-notch are realized by the PIN diodes, achieving three reconfigurable working states. , the antenna structure is compact. The simulation results show that it has good radiation performance throughout the entire operating frequency band, with a steady gain between 1-5dBi. The antenna has an excellent application scene and can be used for UWB applications that suppress narrowband.
