Fast Total Radiated Power Tests Based on Igloo Sampling

As an important performance metric of communication devices, the rapid and accurate measurement of total radiated power (TRP) has garnered increasing attention. Conventional TRP testing is typically conducted in an anechoic chamber using the equiangular sampling method. However, traditional equiangular sampling requires a large number of sampling points, resulting in significant time overhead for TRP testing. To address this issue, this paper proposes a fast TRP testing method based on igloo sampling. This method leverages the principles of igloo sampling, utilizing fewer sampling points to achieve the same TRP testing accuracy as traditional methods. With an elevation angular interval set to 15°, the proposed method can reduce sampling points by 30.83%.
