Overview of the Sulfide Corrosion Mechanism of Key Susceptible Metal Materials in Typical Electronic Components

This paper systematically expounds the corrosion mechanism of key susceptible metal materials in typical electronic components in a sulfur-containing atmosphere. It introduces the structural composition and sulfide-corroded metal parts of chip resistors and optocouplers, discussing the sulfide corrosion failure mechanism of some susceptible metals. The paper reviews the corrosion conditions of typical metals like copper, silver, aluminum, and tin in sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide atmospheres. Finally, it proposes currently used sulfide protection technologies, providing insights for the reliability assessment and protection of electronic components and supporting the high-quality development of the electronics industry.
