Investigating Measurement Anomalies in Single Phase Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Meters

In the implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in PLN Indonesia, customers who were previously using one-way power flow kWh meters are now undergoing replacement with new AMI meters equipped with the capability to measure energy exports and imports. However, certain instances have arisen in various locations where customers, lacking their own energy sources like PV rooftops, record energy export values to the grid unexpectedly. This investigation has unveiled the factors contributing to these anomalies. The analytical findings from this study can be instrumental in enhancing future AMI implementations, benefiting both the utility company and AMI producers.
