Assessing ERP System Acceptance in the Hospitality Industry: An Application of the UTAUT 3 Model

In the rapidly digitizing landscape of the hospitality industry, the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning systems is pivotal for boosting operational effectiveness and competitive advantage in the hospitality sector. This research explores how well ERP systems are received in this sector through the application of the UTAUT 3 framework. Employing Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) for analysis, we examine how technology acceptance factors affect the behavioral intentions and use behavior of ERP system users in hotel operations. Through a questionnaire-based survey conducted on 80 users of XYZ ERP Software from hotels across Bali, Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted using the SmartPLS software and SEM-PLS techniques to test 9 formulated hypotheses. The results show that 5 hypotheses were accepted due to their significant influence: Effort Expectancy, Hedonic Motivation and Price Value on Behavioral Intention, also Personal Innovativeness and Behavioral Intention on Use Behavior, which significantly affect the acceptance of ERP systems in the hospitality industry. In contrast, the other 4 hypotheses not accepted: Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Condition, and Habit did not significantly influence the acceptance of ERP systems in the hospitality industry.
