A Low Power License Plate Recognition System Based on Bluetooth Mesh Network and Ultrasonic Ranging

Traditional license plate recognition systems require the system to run for long periods to capture real-time images and transmit data, resulting in high energy consumption. This paper proposes a low-power number plate recognition system based on a Bluetooth Mesh network. The system uses Bluetooth Mesh technology to network, connecting the plate recognition system board to the wireless communication control module and the ultrasonic sensor to detect the status of the parking space. When a car is detected in the parking space, the camera is awakened to obtain the license plate information. The information is sent to the host computer for storage through the Mesh network, which reduces the power consumption of the license plate recognition system. In addition, compared with the traditional license plate recognition system, the wireless communication module saves the initial investment and construction cost of the weak power communication wire.
