Updates on SiPMSiM, a standalone Monte Carlo simulation toolkit at the micro-cell level to mimic SiPMs signals

A free accessible Monte Carlo simulation toolkit that does not require GATE or Geant4 to be installed has been recently introduced and validated against experiments. It reads the 3D position, time and optionally energy ($\mathrm{X}, \mathrm{Y}, \mathrm{Z}, \mathrm{T}, \mathrm{E}$) of optical photons striking the SiPM surface and generates the corresponding signal. The SiPM class enables Monte Carlo simulations at a fine scale by generating signals and noise for each photon interacting with a micro-cell such as crosstalk and afterpulsing. Simulations outputs can be used to characterize one’s detector energy or timing resolution, or as input signal for machine learning. In this new version, new functionalities have been added and are presented: simulation of SiPM arrays, the ability to mimic the SiPM response variation with temperature or over-voltage, and the availability of simulation parameters for NUV-HD-MT SiPMs.
