Fault Analysis in Transmission System in Consideration with Different Types of DG's

The integration of renewable energy sources necessitates assessment of dynamic system performance due to their inherent variability, requiring analyses of grid stability, control strategies, and economic implications. This study explores the influence of Distributed Generation (DG) on power systems under contingency scenarios, focusing on fault analysis in the presence of both synchronous and induction machine-based DGs, operating in conjunction with the utility grid to supply load. The fault analysis study is conducted with PSCAD/EMTDC (Power System Computer Aided Design / Electromagnetic Transients Including DC) software. Different scenarios are investigated to analyze DGs influence the power system under fault conditions. The paper provides insights into the modeling of synchronous and induction machines based DGs.
