A Model Conversion Method Based on Unified CAE Data Standard

This paper investigates the method of reading and converting NASTRAN's BDF data file and Ansys' CDB data file into General software for marine structural analysis SAM's custom data format. NASTRAN and Ansys are two commonly used finite element analysis software, which have differences in data file formats, making it difficult to communicate their model data. To address this issue, this study designed and developed a conversion method that parses and processes BDF and CDB files to convert them into self-developed data formats. The paper focuses on the conversion methods of various data files, introduces the design and development of reading, parsing, and conversion methods, and verifies the system application through multiple experiments. This study is of great significance for promoting data sharing and collaboration among different finite element software. In the future, further exploration can be made on data conversion with other finite element software and the development of batch conversion tools.
