Automated Accuracy Testing of AC Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment

In order to ensure correct metering and billing at public AC electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), they have to pass a conformity assessment process in Germany. This paper presents an automated test procedure for accuracy testing of AC EVSE as the main part of their conformity assessment. The test setup is based on an electric vehicle (EV) simulator with real power transfer using a bidirectional electronic load. The reference measurements are done by a power analyzer, which is traced back to the national standards. Besides the test setup, some measurement results and uncertainties are shown.
