Scalar finite element solution of the magnetic fields due to azimuthally-periodic current distributions

Magnetostatic problems which have axisymmetric materials and azimuthally-periodic current distributions are solved with 2D finite element analysis in a single dependent variable, the azimuthal component of magnetic field. Results are presented for the end-region of an electrical machine.
