A Comprehensive Overview of Microgrid Planning with Electrical Vehicle Integration

Over the past two decades, the world’s energy needs have increased dramatically, raising heightened concerns about global energy security and adequacy, calling for urgent action and sustainable solutions. Electric vehicles and renewable energy generation are two crucial technologies for mitigating the challenges posed in future power systems. Microgrids enhance the apparent benefits of renewable energies by improving system performance and minimizing energy losses. Prospects for energy resource planning to advance sustainability goals with microgrid capabilities were discussed. Thus, the paper provides a brief review of research studies on the latest advances, the various stages and the challenges encountered when planning microgrids integrating electric vehicles.
