A ±100A Auto-Calibration Current Sensor with 80V Pulse-Width Modulation Attenuation and 0.15% Gain Error

The proposed in-line current sensor uses a small sense resistor Rs of 0.1m Ω to achieve high efficiency. Besides, for high accuracy, automatic voltage calibration and automatic temperature calibration correct for changes caused by voltage changes and temperature changes across the sensing resistor. Furthermore, the proposed capacitively coupled chopper instrumentation amplifier (CCIA) can withstand input voltages up to 80V through a high-voltage (HV) chopper and handle large common-mode transients (20V/ns) through enhanced pulse-width-modulation attenuation (EP A) stage. Experimental results show the gain error is reduced to within ±0.15% and further reduce input noise density to 12n V/√Hz.
