Feasibility Study of Time Synchronization Solution for the Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar Using Mobile Platforms

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems play an important role in the fields of remote sensing and target acquisition. In bistatic radar arrangements, where the transmitter and receiver are situated at separate locations, precise synchronization between these components is crucial to providing high-quality image reconstruction. In this study, an analysis of synchronization methods that utilise accurate timing mechanisms was made. These methods are used to guarantee consistent data collection and processing. Although we await experimental confirmation, this preliminary investigation establishes the foundation for the future advancement of synchronization solutions in BiSAR systems. We also proposed an innovative configuration for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based BiSAR system and a solution for its time and phase synchronization. While experimental confirmation is still awaited, this initial inquiry lays the groundwork for the future development of synchronization solutions in BiSAR systems.
