Advisor-based Modeling and Simulation of Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Hybrid electric vehicles use fuel and electricity as energy sources, and are equipped with power batteries as energy storage devices. This not only achieves zero emissions and zero pollution for new energy vehicles, but also takes into account the advantages of long mileage of traditional fuel vehicles. It has gradually become a hot area for the development of new energy vehicles. In order to study the performance of hybrid vehicles, it is necessary to compare them with pure fuel vehicles through simulation testing and observe the changes in vehicle performance indicators, in order to prove that hybrid vehicles have better fuel economy and environmental protection. In this context, this article first elaborates on the main components, fuel saving principles, structural characteristics, and control strategies of hybrid electric vehicles, laying a theoretical foundation for subsequent research. Secondly, taking the Toyota Prius as an example, the parameters of hybrid electric vehicles, motors, and batteries are calculated. Based on this, ADVISOR software is used to construct a model of the vehicle's power, engine, motor, and battery. Finally, the performance of the Prius was verified through simulation testing in ADVISOR software, and compared with pure fuel vehicles. The results showed that in CYC_UDDS and CYC_HWFET Under the two working conditions of HWFET, the Prius is significantly superior to pure fuel vehicles in terms of power and fuel economy, and also has comprehensive advantages in emissions.
