Document Image Analysis for Text Extraction and Translation

Document Image Analysis (DIA) is an essential tool for text extraction and translation from a variety of language-based images, particularly Tamil and English. This study addresses the difficulties involved in text extraction from document photographs and subsequent translation by providing a thorough examination of methods used in this field. The study focuses on handling difficult scripts and explores several techniques such as image preprocessing, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and machine translation. It highlights the effectiveness of these methods, particularly in handling complex scripts like Tamil. The study emphasizes how reliable language models and neural networks can improve the precision of text extraction and translation. This idea proposes a system designed specifically for project reports to overcome current constraints and offer a reliable, user-friendly alternative. It presents novel techniques to guarantee precise text extraction and smooth translation while maintaining the format and integrity of the document. By providing an overview of the status of DIA for English-to-Tamil text extraction and translation, this study opens the door for further developments in this rapidly developing subject.
