Optical Home Networking Standardization Progress

Home networks are now becoming the major bottleneck for broadband services. Optical home networks can play a role in solving this issue. There has been standardization work on the fiber cabling within the home, the definition of the PMD and DLL, the integration of Wi-Fi, and free-space optical techniques. This paper will review these areas from a technology and standardization viewpoint.
