Efficiency Analysis of Automotive Radar under Weather Conditions

In the realm of contemporary vehicle safety and autonomous driving, automotive radar systems play a pivotal role. However, their efficiency can be significantly impacted by adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, fog, and varying temperatures. This research conducts a thorough investigation into the performance of automotive radar systems under diverse weather scenarios using MATLAB simulation. The study adopts a systematic approach, initiating the modeling of radar system parameters, signal propagation, and the inclusion of realistic weather effects. Solidly entrenched weather models are employed to imitate weather conditions, and the generated radar signals are made to propagate through these recreated scenarios. The research totally focuses on target detection and tracking under various climatic conditions with the help of signal processing algorithms like those used in practical radar systems.
