The use of asymptotes to estimate TE- and TM-mode losses in long conductors

The problem of predicting the eddy losses in long magnetic conductors in uniform axial or transverse fields is considered. It is shown that the use of appropriate normalizing procedures compacts the data for a large variety of cross sections and makes loss estimation very much simpler.
