Golang Defect Detection based on Value Flow Analysis

With the proliferation of the Internet and the increasing demand for business, Golang (Go language) has gained significant attention due to its wide application in cloud computing and the Internet field. This rapid growth poses challenges to code quality and security. To achieve precise modeling for the Go language, this study implements a points-to analysis algorithm specific to Go and constructs a sparse value-flow graph designed for Go. With the help of this high-precision value-flow graph, the null pointer detection algorithm can be implemented. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms in this paper, this study tests the analysis efficiency and accuracy of the proposed null pointer deference detection algorithm using a set of open-source projects. The experimental results show that our implementation can efficiently and accurately detect program defects in Go language programs.
