Continuous Non-Invasive Gastric Volume Monitoring Using GMR Sensors and Machine Learning for Gastrointestinal Wellness

Accurate monitoring of gastric volume is crucial for understanding gastrointestinal (GI) health and optimizing drug therapy. Existing methods lack continuous monitoring capabilities, leading to potential drug dosage errors and adverse effects. We propose a novel method, termed Tunable Gastric Volume (TGV), leveraging Giant Magneto Resistance (GMR) sensors and advanced machine learning algorithms. The TGV method continuously measures gastric volume pre and post-food intake, enabling precise drug dosing based on real-time gastric conditions. Utilizing Tunable Q-factor Wavelet Transform (TQWT), Rational-Dilation Wavelet Transforms (RADWT), and multiple regression techniques, our approach achieves a 93% accuracy compared to laboratory ultrasonic methods. Integrated with Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), this technology promises seamless remote monitoring and personalized care for GI wellness.
