Considerations for Transient Voltage and Current Induced to Signal Line in Aircraft Bundles

In this paper, the analysis of the transient voltage and current induced by the lightning in the aircraft is provided. Some types of aircraft bundle imitated the mal-installation is fabricated and tested. The measurement results show the induced voltage is affected by the shielding and length of the pigtail which is the typical treatment of assembling the physical interface of onboard equipment. The effect of the bundle on the unshielded lines is also evaluated. The result shows the effectiveness of the shield lines bundling with the unshielded line.
