A Novel Reconfigurable Metasurface with Expanded Tuning Range for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

This paper introduces a novel reconfigurable metasurface with an expanded tuning range, which addresses the limitations of conventional band-stop structures. A unique method that utilizes varactor diodes for continuous tunability in single polarization and PIN diodes for mode switching capabilities are proposed, and newly designed structures are provided and validated through full-wave simulations. The innovative design significantly extends the frequency tuning range from 2.24 - 3.67 GHz to 2.15 - 5.46 GHz, demonstrating enhanced broadband performance suitable for modern intelligent antenna systems. This advanced metasurface has the potential to meet the evolving demands for dynamic electromagnetic compatibility in various communication applications.
