Assessing the Impact of External Influences during Packet Transmission between Two Endpoints

This paper deals with the issue of development of a cell to study the quality of transmission in various media. The authors have conducted an experiment in which the transmitting and receiving waveguides are located in two projections: contiguous and 4 mm apart. In the event when there was free space between the receiver and the transmitter, it was filled with two mediums: water, air. In the case of ideal conditions, the connection was carried out using an FC/UPC connector gapless. The experiment was re-conducted nine times over a span of five days for each of the conditions. For more accurate information, the number of transmitted packets was 10,000 with a duration of 500 milliseconds. As a result of the experiment, data on the number of transmitted and lost packets were obtained. The analysis of the experimental results was carried out, a graph of the dependency of the transmitted packets on the number of the experiment was constructed, and a conclusion was made based on the obtained results.
