3-phase sinosoidally-modulated 3MHz-switching GaN power converter for non-resonant WPT applications

This paper presents the development of a power converter for wireless-power-transfer applications. The approach is based on very high-frequency sinusoidally modulated step-down converter by producing a fundamental sinusoidal waveform. The synthesized voltage can be controlled on the primary side by a simple voltage feedback and kept at nominal value even in the presence of varying load and coupling condition. In addition, the efficiency and the controllability can be significantly improved than in conventional resonant approaches.
