Zero Common-Mode Voltage Solution for Dual Three Phase PMSM Drive System with Reconstructed Modulation Patterns

The high-frequency common-mode voltage (CMV) caused by pulse width modulation (PWM) would cause additional electromagnetic interference (EMC), bearing currents and affect the performance of insulation. However, existing literatures focus on improving the phase currents and torque performance of dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DTP-PMSM). In this paper, a zero common mode voltage control method has been proposed. Firstly, basic voltage vectors in DTP-PMSM is reconstructed to establish zero CMV voltage vectors (ZCMV3). Then, another space vector modulation (SVM) method and its deadtime compensation are discussed. Thirdly, a predictive controller is applied to provide precise torque output with these ZCMV3. Finally, and experimental results verify the performance of proposed zero-common mode voltage solution.
