Field Studies while Developing a Technique for Assessing the Quality of Transport Service Considering the Opinions of Private Car Users

The level of travel convenience describes the street and road network performance. This article describes Phase 2 of the study, which attempts to assess differences in perceptions of service levels among private car users and standardized level of service values. The findings highlight the need to incorporate qualitative criteria into the level of service measuring technique in addition to the conventional service indicator. A field laboratory equipped with specialized equipment was used in the study. The values were compared with the assessment data on the level of travel convenience obtained from drivers. It was concluded from the findings that the main criterion used to assess the street and road network (SRN) performance did not reflect real user expectations and opinions.
