Performance analysis of multi-carrier scheme for 5G communication system

The evolution of wireless communication systems toward the fifth generation (5G) has been driven by the increasing demands for high data rates, massive connectivity and ultra-low latency. Multi-carrier modulation techniques may effectively use spectrum resources and minimize the effects of frequency-selective fading channels, they have become an essential technology in 5G networks. The performance analysis of the several multi-carrier techniques used in 5G communication systems is presented. The study focuses on analyzing the performance metrics, based on Bit Error Rate (BER), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR),Power Spectral Density (PSD) for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC), Universal Frequency Multiple-carrier (UFMC), Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (GFDM), Filtered-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (F-OFDM) in the context of 5G communication. Every technique offers a unique set of benefits and drawbacks that make them ideal for particular uses. The knowledge gathered from this study will aid in the continued development and optimization of 5G as it matures and spreads, fostering innovation and advancement in wireless communication technologies.
