Comparative Study with Analysis of Fixed-Tilt and Tracked Solar Photovoltaic Panels

This paper discusses the performance analysis of three different systems: fixed tilt, single-axis, and dual axis solar tracking system. MATLAB Simulink is used to model power generation and cost equations. The paper proposes a single design to perform three different configurations, namely, single, dual and fixed axils. Two testing scenarios have been used: sunny and partly cloudy days to validate and increase the accuracy level of the obtained results. Simulink, also, has been used to compare the theoretical and empirical results. Both theoretical and experimental results show that the dual axis has more generated power, but it is less difference with single axis. The results show the single axis tracking system has good economic value compared to dual axis.
