A VLSI Perspective on Encryption Algorithm Analysis

Cryptography plays a vital role in our modern digital era, especially with the rise of e-commerce and internet applications. However, in certain cases, the significance of cryptography may be undermined due to the resource-intensive nature of its implementation. In this project, the main objective is to develop an efficient Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) implementation using Verilog, which is crucial for safeguarding electronic data from prying eyes. To address potential delays in the encryption process, this project aims to reduce them by incorporating a parallel AES design. By introducing a low-power, high-throughput approach for AES using key expansion techniques, we can achieve reduced power consumption and critical path delays. This will be made possible through the utilization of high-performance architecture. The most objective of this extend is to upgrade information throughput whereas recognizing the expanding centrality of security in today’s advanced scene. The utilization of encryption and decryption techniques within Very-Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) has seen a surge, as cryptography facilitates the conversion of plaintext to cipher text and vice versa. To stay at the forefront of cryptographic technology, this project will integrate cutting-edge cryptographic techniques into a hardware security module by simultaneously developing multiple Hardware Description Language (HDL) modules. The central objective of this initiative is to ensure secure data transmission and reception while enhancing specific performance parameters. It is worth noting that encryption algorithms operate within a digital environment, and all system components securely handle digital data. By leveraging Verilog, we can create a robust AES implementation that guarantees the utmost security for sensitive data.
