Performance Evaluation of a CHB-MLI with Multicarrier Techniques Controlled by FPGA

This paper presents the design, performance and analysis of a seven multilevel single phase cascaded H-Bridge inverter system, with implementing different multicarrier control mechanisms: Phase Shifted Carriers, Level Shifted Carriers and applying different values of frequency for them. By using Field-Programmable Gate Array which uses a very high integrated circuit hardware description language code. The proposed system includes 7- cascaded H-Bridge inverters to achieve higher voltage levels and lower Total Harmonic Distortion, to demonstrate this project, the system has been performed and simulated using the MATLAB/Simulink software package. Different values of Harmonic Distortions, different voltage waveforms have been achieved. The practical values were compared with that achieved in simulation, and the comparison proved that the results were satisfactory.
