Integral Sliding Mode Control of the VSC-HVDC Transmission System

This article addresses the problem of controlling a Voltage Source Converter based High Voltage Direct Current (VSC-HVDC) transmission systems. An integral nonlinear control based on sliding mode control is proposed to control our system to achieve two controller objectives: regulation of dc voltage and active power and ensuring good performance and system stability in the presence of disturbances. The proposed controller performance is evaluated via the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed controller effectively achieves its objectives and showcase the efficiency and robustness of the proposed control technique.
