Intelligent Global Sliding Mode Control of Anti-Lock Braking System Using Optimization Algorithms

This article provides an overview of optimization algorithms for gain tuning in sliding mode control applied to the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). Anti-Lock Braking is crucial for ensuring vehicle safety, and a significant challenge lies in selecting accurate control gains to ensure system stability and rapid convergence to the desired target. Initially, we introduce a global sliding mode control approach for ABS and establish its asymptotic stability using the Lyapunov method. Subsequently, to enhance convergence, we propose two algorithms designed to select optimal sliding mode control gains, aiming to minimize the error between the actual wheel slip ratio and the desired value. Through design and simulation phases, our study demonstrates the effectiveness of these algorithms in achieving stable and rapid convergence of the output signal to the desired target. We then conduct a comparative analysis of the two proposed tuning algorithms based on convergence delay time and error tracking rate.
