A Survey on Trust Based Approaches Used in Detection of Attacks in Internet of Things (IoT)

Due to the advancement of information and communication technologies, information security has become a major problem for data transfer and routing. The Internet of Things(IoT) has significantly changed how technology is used in several spheres of life today. Every aspect of human life includes smart devices. Governments, Industries and Agriculture etc are implementing autonomous systems to improve productivity, efficiency and overall economic benefits. The conventional security is one of the key issues for the loT ecosystem. It incorporates requirements for the identification, authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of both individuals and devices. There are various approaches used for detecttion of attacks in loT like cryotography, IDS based, Trust based and Machine learning based. The contribution of this paper is to give overview of the trust evaluation metrics used in detection of attacks in Internet of Things.
