Smart Ring Gestures Recognition System Tailored to Serious Games Designed for Older People

The use of smart rings in the context of user interfaces designed for older people can bring significant benefits by fostering an intuitive user experience tailored to the needs and preferences of users. In this context, the contributions of this paper lie in the implementation of a smart ring gesture recognition system for serious game interfaces designed for older people. The proposed system comprises a training module responsible for gathering accelerometer raw data from smart rings and generating a classification model, and a recognition module tasked with predicting gestures and transmitting the labels to the user interface to execute the corresponding feedback.
