The Willingness of College Educators in Animation and Digital Media to Embrace Generative AI

This study explores the acceptance and utilization of generative AI tools among university educators in animation and digital media disciplines. Employing questionnaires and online interviews, it reveals a positive view of AI tools' impact on higher education, particularly in enhancing creativity and efficiency in early-stage animation education. While educators express confidence in students and colleagues, concerns exist regarding over-reliance on AI tools and institutional support. Public university teachers show greater satisfaction with support for AI teaching. The study fills a knowledge gap by providing empirical data for educational technology development in animation and digital media arts. Future research can investigate long-term effects and outcomes of AI tools in higher education and explore practical application methods to enhance teaching efficiency across various disciplines.
