A Survey About 5G-Based Robotics: Implementations, Possibilities and Limitations

5G pledged to enable new use cases for industry and robotics through enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC) and Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC). At the present date, a gap exists between what should be achievable according to the standard and what is practically feasible. This paper gives an overview over practical implementations of 5G industrial and robot use cases and shows that, at the present time, some promises given by 5G, cannot be kept.
