IoTRACK: An IoT based 'Real-Time' Orbiting Satellite Tracking System

Satellite technologies remain at the forefront of modern communication and weather monitoring. This project provides an innovative IoT-based real-time orbiting satellite tracking system that was precisely designed for communication and meteorological data collection. The primary goal is to deliver a holistic solution, seamlessly integrating IoT, Information Technology and other networking technologies. The main emphasis is on accurate satellite route prediction and retrieving real-time satellite location data to minimize signal loss during tracking. Our hardware-software solution is based on Python and handles data flow, analysis, and control by utilizing the Two-Line Element (TLE) data, IoT sensor integration, and the SkyField library for accurate route predictions. The hardware, featuring the Arduino module and microcontrollers, ensures continuous real-time monitoring and antenna alignment control. Performance evaluation centers on accurate path prediction, weather data acquisition, and stable connections to minimize signal loss during satellite tracking.
